Very nice teacher! Happy with my perfume.
Most perfumes begin with catalogue ingredients available to anyone. This workshop begins somewhere different: with materials that are genuinely rare, that carry the specific geography and botany of Thailand, and that most people will never smell in isolation in their lives. What you create here cannot be replicated anywhere else.
In perfumery, rarity has a precise meaning. An ingredient is rare when its supply is limited by geography, harvest season, or the difficulty of extraction — when it cannot simply be ordered in bulk from a catalogue. Wild-harvested botanicals that depend on a specific microclimate, absolutes that require enormous quantities of raw material to produce in small volumes, and regional accords that can only be developed from locally sourced materials: these are the ingredients that define the rare collection. Using them in a workshop is not a luxury gesture — it is access to a different quality of creative material.
Our rare collection is sourced directly from Thai producers and regional specialists. The oud and agarwood extracts come from sustainably managed Thai agarwood — dense, resinous, and unlike any Arabic or Indian oud in character. Wild-harvested Thai ylang-ylang from southern Thailand has a lighter, more tropical quality than the Comoros ylang used in commercial perfumery. The jasmine absolute from Chiang Rai is hand-picked and solvent-extracted in small batches — intensely floral and far more complex than synthetic jasmine. The sea air and coastal accord is a proprietary blend developed by our master perfumer exclusively for use in Phuket — it is not available through any other channel.
The rare ingredient workshop is a structured creative conversation between you and our master perfumer. It begins with an ingredient presentation: each rare material is introduced, its provenance explained, and a small quantity offered for evaluation on a blending strip. The perfumer notes your responses — which materials draw you in, which feel wrong, which surprise you — and begins to construct a fragrance structure around those preferences. Blending is iterative: the session moves through a series of drafts, each one adjusting concentration, balance, and character until the result is unambiguously yours.
The rare ingredient workshop is available to a maximum of two participants per session to preserve the depth of one-on-one facilitation. Our master perfumer has worked in professional fragrance development for over a decade and brings that technical background to a format designed for creative non-specialists. The session is not a class — it is a collaboration. You bring the instinct; the perfumer brings the knowledge of how to build around it.
At the end of the session, you leave with a 30ml perfume in a premium glass bottle, a formula card documenting your exact recipe — every ingredient, every percentage — and a certificate of composition signed by the master perfumer. The formula card is the key to the reorder programme: if you want the same perfume reproduced in the future, we can produce it from the documented recipe. Reorders can be requested in quantities from 1 to 100 bottles and shipped internationally.
The rare ingredient workshop starts from ฿6,500 per person for a single participant, or ฿5,500 per person for two participants sharing a session. The price includes the full rare ingredient palette, master perfumer facilitation, a 30ml finished perfume, formula card, and certificate of composition. Premium presentation packaging and add-ons — photography, tea ceremony pairing, butler service — are quoted separately. The session runs for approximately 3.5 to 4 hours.
He had been coming to Thailand for fifteen years and had never found a fragrance that captured what he meant by it — not the generic tropical notes, not the tourist-market incense. He wanted something that smelled like the specific version of Thailand he had in his memory. The session ran to nearly four hours. The master perfumer worked through twelve ingredient combinations before the proportions settled into something that made him go quiet for a long moment. Wild ylang-ylang, agarwood, frangipani, and the coastal accord. He took two bottles and ordered six more when he got home.
Available exclusively at your Phuket villa. Share your preferred dates and we'll confirm our master perfumer's availability.
