The workshop that moves
Most activities in Phuket ask you to sit still. Ours takes you out to sea. Blend your own perfume or balm aboard a catamaran or private yacht as the Andaman coastline passes by — the most distinctive creative activity on the water in Thailand.
There is something about being at sea that sharpens the senses. The salt air, the movement of the boat, the quality of light over open water — all of it becomes part of the experience of creating a fragrance. Participants consistently describe the yacht workshop as the most memorable thing they did in Phuket: not because of the perfume, but because of where they made it.
Our catamaran format is the most popular yacht experience. Groups of up to 20 board at Chalong Pier or Ao Yon Bay and sail to open water while our facilitator introduces the fragrance palette. The blending session runs as the boat moves, with sails up and the horizon in view. Each participant creates their own 10ml perfume, labels it, and seals it before the return journey.
For couples, small groups, and corporate VIP entertainment, the private charter offers complete exclusivity. You choose the vessel, the route, the duration, and the fragrance direction. Add catering, photography, and styling. Ideal for honeymoons, milestone birthdays, proposals, and incentive travel programmes where the experience needs to feel designed specifically for the people aboard.
The sunset cruise format combines Phuket's most iconic natural spectacle with the intimacy of a perfume workshop. Sessions depart from Chalong in the late afternoon and time the fragrance blending session to coincide with golden hour. Shared cruises start from 2 pax; the full boat can be reserved for groups up to 20. A celebration toast accompanies the sunset before the return.
Every yacht workshop includes a full Herbsmetics materials kit — fragrance oils, pipettes, blending cards, bottles, and packaging — brought aboard by our facilitator. The session is led entirely by our team; the yacht operator handles navigation. Take-home packaging is completed on board before disembarkation. Drinks and snacks are provided on private charters and through select catamaran operator partners.
We work with a curated group of Phuket yacht and catamaran operators who meet our standards for vessel quality, safety certification, and guest experience. Our partnerships cover catamarans, motor yachts, and sailing yachts operating from Chalong, Ao Yon, and Yacht Haven Marina. Operators are named in the booking confirmation and can be requested specifically.
All yacht workshops are subject to sea conditions on the day. We monitor forecasts and reserve the right to relocate sessions to our studio or a villa if conditions are unsuitable for safe operation. Minimum group size is 2 pax for shared cruises and private charters. Our standard departure ports are Chalong Pier (south Phuket) and Ao Yon Bay (east coast). Yacht Haven Marina (north) is available on request for private charters.

We monitor sea conditions from 48 hours before your booking. If conditions are unsuitable for a safe and enjoyable session, we offer a full rebook or relocate the workshop to our Phuket studio or a private villa at no extra charge.
Yes — all participants wear life jackets during the session and the boat does not anchor in deep water. The workshop takes place on deck while the vessel is underway. Our operator partners carry all required safety equipment and certifications.
Sunset cruise shared slots are available with as little as 48 hours' notice, subject to availability. Catamaran workshops require at least one week's notice. Private charters should be booked 2–4 weeks in advance, especially during peak season (November–March).
